This fall, Alderac Entertainment Group and Dust Games will release a new board game unlike any you’ve played before. The Adventurers and the Temple of Chac takes you into the lives of adventuring archaeologists, plunging into booby-trapped temples to secure relics of great importance and value. The game features beautifully sculpted figures and components, including a room of walls that converge and a giant boulder your heroes must avoid.
The Adventurers was the creation of Guillaume Blossier and Frédéric Henry. David Preti of Dust Games brought the concept game to AEG, seeking a partner with which to release the English version of the game. Upon playing through an early copy of the game, the staff at Alderac was immediately sold on the game.
“The game is very engrossing. You are instantly transported into this ancient temple, and the fast pace of the game helps to emulate the tension of the constant traps you face, “ says Todd Rowland, who represents AEG on The Adventurers. “I believe anyone who sees the game set up, with all the figures, walls, and tiles won’t be able to help but start playing.”
Guilllaume Blossier and Frederic Henry, the game’s designers add, “We started this project 4 years ago with the idea of gathering in the same game some of the most famous traps of “temple exploration” like those seen in movies. Our objective was to create a game in which players would compete against each other of course but also against the game itself through “traps mechanisms” working on their own. It took us a long time to adjust everything so that players could feel some tension all game long but now we just hope that players will be happy to become Adventurers for a while and experience the thrill of temple exploration thanks to this game !”
The Adventurers and the Temple of Chac will release this fall at game stores around the globe.
